Caesars Palace, Baby!!

It is official!! The Fantasy Football Players Championship live events are back at the legendary Caesars Palace for 2010!

The FFPC is expanding to Friday September 10th and Saturday September 11th, 2010. We have secured the Augustus Ballroom for the entire slate of events scheduled on these two days. Augustus Ballroom is a great space, almost identical to the Palace Ballroom we had in 2009.

A full schedule of live events is available here.

Don Metter is the 2009 FFPC Champion!

The 2009 fantasy season has come to an end and what a season it was. The FFPC has crowned its 2nd Players Champion and it is Don Metter and his team “Bernie Madoff Is My Financial Advisor”. Don works in the financial services industry and felt that it was an appropriate team name for the 2009 season. I assume he will make better use of the $75,000 than Bernie would have.

Don’s team was littered with 2009 fantasy studs, including Tom Brady, Chris Johnson, Brandon Marshall, Miles Austin, and the Giants Steve Smith. He got solid production in the final weeks from LaDainian Tomlinson and Jonathan Stewart’s 30 points in week 16 helped, too. Don was forced to use tight ends Tony Scheffler and Dante Rosario after losing stud TE Owen Daniels in week 9, which makes his championship all the more impressive.

Don’s team posted a monster score of 213.60 in week 14. He followed with a modest 138.55, but then took down the title with a 172.35 in the final week. Don drafted live in Las Vegas in Barry Sanders league #1. Congrats once again to Don Metter, the 2009 FFPC National Champion!

Field of 96 Championship!

And then there were three….

Cwazy Monter - Matt Butler
Big Mac Attack II - Philip McDonald

A total of 102 teams started in their quest to win their way through the Field of 96 bracket and after 14 weeks of cometition, the three teams above will compete in the Championship Round of the Field of 96. The team with the highest combined score in Weeks 15-16 will be crowned 2009 Field of 96 Champion and win $3000. Second place will take home $1750 and third will get $1250.

You can follow the Championship action here: Field of 96 Live Bracket

The three teams eliminated in the Round of 6 win the prizes below.

$600 - FIERCE! - Jeffrey Schmitz

Crimson Powerhouse - William Gill
Pacific Barons - Mike Boggs
Spiders From Mars - Pat Stillitano

Congratulations to all owners and best of luck in the Field of 96 Championship!

2009/2010 FFPC Playoff Challenge is back!

As the season winds down and we get closer to crowning the 2009 FFPC Champion, that can only mean one thing: the NFL Playoffs are almost here as so is the 2009/2020 FFPC Playoff Challenge!

This contest was always a lot of fun and the best part about it is, since it runs during the playoffs (from WildCard Weekend through the Superbowl), it gives everyone one last chance at some fantasy football and winning some dough, of course. Definitely a great way to close out the season and helps out with “FF withdrawal syndrome”.

The Official Rules for the 2009/2010 FFPC Playoff Challenge:

1. FFPC scoring rules are in effect.

2. Each team will consist of 10 NFL players in a FFPC starting roster format: 1-QB, 2-RB, 2-WR, 1-TE, 2-Flex, 1-K, 1-D

3. Each team will choose 10 players from any of the 12 playoff teams but ONLY ONE PLAYER PER TEAM. To be clear, if you choose Peyton Manning as your QB, you may NOT have any more Colt players on your roster.

4. This will be your roster for the duration of the playoffs and you will not make any changes. As NFL teams get knocked out of the playoffs, so will your players so draft your team accordingly.

5. Each week’s score will be added to your team’s total and the Superbowl will count as DOUBLE the points. So instead of 1ppr it will be 2ppr, instead of 6 pts per TD, it will be 12 pts per TD, etc, etc. This is done to create a little more excitement the last game of the season and give teams a chance to make up a deficit in the standings. Teams with the highest point total after the Superbowl will be the winners. In the event of a tie, say #1 and #2 finishing teams, the 1st & 2nd place prize money will be combined and evenly divided between the two teams.

6. The NFL playoffs are scheduled to begin Saturday, January 9th, the time has yet been announced by the NFL. The deadline for roster and payment submission is 11:00AM Eastern on Saturday, January 9th but we encourage everyone to submit their rosters as soon as possible.

7. We are currently working to create a MyFantasyLeague.com league page to give you the ability to submitted and change rosters directly on your own team page. As we have done in the past, you may also submit your team either together with your payment (Check/MO or Credit Card) or at any time prior to the cutoff. We will also accept roster adjustments prior to cutoff but we ask you to please make your decisions prior to submitting your roster and keep changes to a minimum if submitting them via email.

8. All rosters and scoring will be loaded and tracked on MyFantasyLeague.com league page and all rosters will be made public prior to the start of the playoffs.

9. Entry Fee is $200. Online Registration is available using your credit card or you can mail a check/MO to the following ADDRESS. Please let us know if you are paying by mail so we look for your correspondence, as we do not check the mail often this time of the year.

10. To submit your team with your CC payment, please type in the players names in the “Comments” window at the bottom of the registration page.

11. To submit your team with your check/MO, please include it with your payment or email it to This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it .

12. Prizes will be paid out according to 85% payouts based on total entries.

13. The exact prize breakdown will be determined once entries are closed. Top 10% of all entries will win prizes. This is an example of a prize breakdown from the last few years: 1st - 55%, 2nd - 25%, 3rd - 15%, 4th - 5%, 5th - 5%.

14. The prize winning from this contest will count towards the 2010 calendar year.

15. And lastly, ALL ARE WELCOME to play, not just FFPC participants and you may enter as many times as you wish.

Best of Luck!
